1970 Challenger R/T SE Quietly Dying

Warning: not for the faint of heart. This 1970 Challenger R/T with the SE package is apparently just too far gone to save. It’s a victim of an owner who refuses to sell. If you need closure, see the story at Street Legal TV. And be sure to check out more pictures after the jump!

  1. What is wrong with this person. Do they not know what they got? Its so sad to see this happen to a classic I would love to restore it

  2. I had a friend who bought his spoiled brat daughter a ’63 split window coupe Corvette, yellow with brown interior with the 327 fuel injected engine and 4 speed when they lived in Florida. I visited them many years later and asked about the Corvette. My buddy took me out back where it sat, in the blistering sun, with 4 flat tires, faded paint and cracked interior. I offered him $15,000 for it on the spot and he wouldn’t take it because it was “her car”. Made me sick to my stomach. She also had a “beach car”, a 427 Caprice with the highway patrol package that she took to the beach and was all rusted out and trashed. As far as I know, the Corvette is still sitting in the same place that it’s been for 40 years, wasting away. It should be a crime punishable by prison time!

  3. We’ve been driving around the back roads for years looking for a Mopar build. Sadly, too many idiots have cable and watch Barrett Jackson. They believe their rotted out 1971 Challenger with cornstalks poking through the engine bay is worth $50k or more. Yes, they’d rather see the cars die a slow death to rust and rot than sell them to someone who will restore and love them. Tragic!
