Tommy Archer has been with the Chrysler Group’s racing and development team for the past 18 years. In 1989 he raced this very truck at Lime Rock, winning the event. It’s a survivor race truck with only 4000 miles! The only updates are the fuel cell, replacement Hoosier tires, a new front spoiler and a bigger racing seat. This widebody 1968 Dodge Charger is a work in progress but we can tell it’s gonna be amazing. Twin turbo Nelson Racing 572ci Hemi rated at 2,000 hp! We will keep you posted on the build. But for now, check out the rest of the pics after the jump!
This photo of the #3 Dodge Charger driven by Buddy Baker and built by Ray Fox was taken at the 1969 Bristol Race. It is interesting because it shows the stock version of the car alongside the race version. The white Charger 500 is still around today and was probably given to Baker by Chrysler.
Mopar Muscle Magazine called this “the coolest Daytona at SEMA” on their Facebook page. Maybe they are hiring interns who don’t know Mopars? Cause this is a Chevy-powered movie car. Note that the hood is closed… More pics after the jump!
