Barn finds are still be found. Hot Rod reported on this 1970 Plymouth Barracuda that was parked in 1977 due to an unidentified issue. The car, and everything around it, has not been touched since that day. One can say it’s “only” a 318 automatic but that just means that it’s not too rare and valuable to drive and enjoy. Hellcat to Debut in August
Finally! Street Legal is reporting that Dodge has confirmed that the Hellcat will debut in August in a Challenger SRT. The Charger SRT Hellcat will be released in January. Not much official info about the supercharged 6.2L Hemi but Street Legal has done some educated speculating.
Chrysler Registers “Rebel” Trademark
Jalopnik reports that Chrysler has recently filed to trademark the name “Rebel” and it appears to have done so with the intent of using it in the future as opposed to protecting past AMC cars with that nameplate. Whether it is for a new model or a trim/package on an existing model (Charger Rebel? Wrangler Rebel? Caravan Rebel?), only time will tell.

Superman Power Wagon to Raise Money for Charity
The Superman themed Ram Power Wagon built by Chrysler to promote the movie Man of Steel is going to auction. Funds raised are to go to the LA Family Housing charity that helps families escape from homelessness and poverty. Find more info at CarBuzz. I always pictured Superman as more of a Viper guy. 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T
This heavily optioned, mostly stock, Hemi-powered 1970 Challenger is featured in Hot Rod. The engine was beefed up internally to add durability but most everything else is pretty much how it was from day one. I’m kinda liking the Dark Burnt Orange Metallic paint. Read the story of this E-body at Hot Rod. More pics after the jump!
SRT Challenger Hellcat Spotted
Update: Motor Trend Calls BS on these Spy Shots
LeftLane has some photos of what appears to be the 2015 Challenger Hellcat, replete with bulging hood and cold air intake. Now that the “run-of-the-mill” 2015 Challengers have been released, they seem to have relaxed their guard re the front and rear covers. The unique hood is a tip off to something special lurking beneath. You can also see SRT on the wheel centers with some serious Brembo brake calipers behind. More pics after the jump!
Survivor 1971 Hemi Challenger on eBay
Barn Finds has discovered a not-too-rough survivor Hemi Challenger on eBay. With only 50,852 miles on the clock and reportedly stored for the last 25 years (the cars first 18 years were spent in California), this could be one rare find. Follow the eBay auction as the bidding enters six figures without hitting the reserve. More pics after the jump as well as a decoded list of the cars two fender tags!
