Mopar Album Cover: The Cars Heartbeat City

The Cars fifth album was released in 1984 with this cool 1971 Duster 340 on the cover. According to Wikipedia the artwork was from a 1972 piece by Peter Phillips called “Art-O-Matic Loop di Loop.” You can see the full cover folded out after the jump!

Make a Wish Charger

How cool is this? The Make-A-Wish Foundation just finished the restoration of this 1968 Dodge Charger for teenage cancer patient Matthew Wood in Canyon, Minnesota. Matthew was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma and he, his brother and father had not been able to make much progress on the Charger they had acquired ten years ago. Morrie’s Automotive Group took over, repainted the car and rebuilt the original 318 drivetrain. They completed the 600 man-hour job just two weeks ago and gave Matthew the keys. As you might imagine, Matthew was thrilled. Major props to everyone involved. One more pics after the jump! Via Hemmings

Lots of Cool Mopars at the 2013 CEMA Charity Car Show

Looks like the Chrysler Employee Motorsport Association had a good turnout for their annual show this past weekend on the grounds of the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills, Michigan. One of the coolest cars was undoubtably Doug Schellinger’s 1970 Plymouth Superbird. You can see a bunch more pics at Mac’s Motor City Garage. 1970-Plymouth-Superbird-Doug-Schellinger

Dodge, Plymouth and Chrysler Conquest

We haven’t covered a lot of 80s cars so far. How about the Conquest, built by Mitsubishi and sold as a Dodge, Plymouth and Chrysler? They are becoming increasingly hard to find, especially in stock form. This one sold recently on eBay for $1,780 but it sounds like it had a blown motor. There is a good writeup on these increasingly rare cars over at Hemmings.

Any Dodge Neon Fans Here?

I think they should never have stopped making the Neon. The Caliber was a misstep. And honestly, the new Dart has a lot more in common with the Neon than it does with the original Dart. Nothing wrong with that, though–the Neon was cool. Like this one running Rally America. Pic via DodgeForums
