The Fast and The Furious Charger is For Sale

Vin Diesel’s Charger from 2001’s “The Fast and The Furious” (the first installment) is up for sale. The 440, fake blower-equipped 1970 Charger is still wearing battle scars from its collision with a semi at the end of the movie. Would you leave it that way or rebuild it? (Assuming you have $700,000 kicking around). See it at Carbuzz. More pics after the jump!

Forgotten Movie Mopar: 1974 Dodge Charger from “Wheels of Terror”

We all remember “Christine.” We all remember “Duel.” But what about “Wheels of Terror”? Starring Joanna Cassidy and a sadistic ’74 Dodge Charger, this movie takes us on a wild ride through the Arizona desert as a madman in his brutal car terrorizes a small town and its inhabitants. While this little 1990 made-for-TV movie isn’t the best I’ve ever seen, it’s certainly worth checking out for the nasty looking custom Charger that really becomes a character in it’s own right. More pictures plus the FULL MOVIE after the jump!

A Slant Six Gathering

Often referred to as bullet proof, the Chrysler slant 6 engine has developed quite a loyal following. In production from 1960 to 1991, it powered many different vehicles, including this 1963 Valiant.  A recent Slant Six Gathering in San Francisco brought together more than 50 Chrysler vehicles powered by the straight 6 engine with the 30 degree slant. The rules of the occasion: no judges, no trophies, no tickets, no rules. I like it! Find the Slant Six Gathering here. More info on the venerable slant six can be found at Allpar.

1971 340 Plymouth Duster Headed For The Crusher

We at Rocket Restorations are heading down to the Fall Fling Mopar show in Van Nuys, California this weekend and hit some wrecking yards heading south.

In Northern California we found this real 340 Auto FY1 Yellow 1971 Plymouth Duster just sitting in a wrecking yard.  We tried to buy the car but they said the paperwork had already been turned into the DMV and they would not sell the car whole.  So many good parts on this one, it is still complete with the 340 motor and small block 727 transmission.  They are selling parts off of it, but the car will have to be crushed, so sad.  See more pictures after the jump.
