Hey guys, we’re going to be taking a much needed break next week–time for a bit of R & R and family time. We will continue to post one cool story per day but will essentially be on auto pilot. The usual three to five posts per day will resume on the 19th. Til then, hope you guys are enjoying your Mopars and summer!

Movie Mopar of the Week: 1970 Plymouth Superbird from Cars
King brought Mopars to a whole new generation. Gotta love it. Video clip after the jump!
Mopar Album Cover: Sucking the 70s
I’ve never head this one but according to Wikipedia it’s a “two disk collection of 1970s songs covered by modern stoner rock bands.” Whatever. The cover art with the ‘Cuda is awesome. More info at the Small Stone website.
Reader’s Rides: Ken McKenzie’s 1970 Plymouth GTX
Check out Ken’s sweet 1970 Plymouth GTX from Boston, Massachusetts! It’s a 440-6 BBL car, FK5, white interior with white vinyl top, auto on the console, with Air Grabber, rear defroster and AM-FM radio. More pics after the jump!

1979 AMC Spirit AMX For Sale on Hemmings
Daniel Strohl at Hemmings spotted this awesome 1979 AMC Spirit AMX in their classifieds, which is said to be a rust free, two-owner car. The original 304 has been replaced with a fairly stout 360, so this thing is probably a hoot to drives, especially with the 4-speed. The $13,900 asking price seems pretty reasonable for such a solid and unique car–one of just 1,834 produced. More pics after the jump, and be sure to check out the ad at Hemmings!
Seven Mopars That Made History
MSN recently published Muscle Cars: 20 That Made History and I counted seven Mopars on their list: 1956 Chrysler 300B, 1968 Plymouth Road Runner, 1968 Dodge Charger, 1970 AMC Rebel Machine, 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T, 1970 Plymouth Superbird, 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8. Hmmm, I could probably think of a few more, like the 1968 Hemi Dart, but it’s not a bad start. What do you think?
Audioslave “Show Me How To Live” is an Awesome Vanishing Point Tribute
Totally forgot about this great video by Audioslave from 2003, based on everybody’s favorite Mopar movie Vanishing Point. According to the guys at Bangshift, they used two Challengers during the filming of the video and then gave one away to a lucky fan when they were done. Video after the jump!
Twin Turbo Supra-Powered Plymouth Scamp
We’ve featured a lot of weird non-Mopar Hemi swaps. But this is the first time we’ve featured a Mopar with non-Mopar power. This 1971 Scamp was apparently rescued from an Arizona scrapyard. It then got the full pro touring treatment and then a twin turbo motor out of a Toyota Supra. What do you think? Sacrilegious? More pics after the jump! Via Pro-Touring.com
1971 Dodge Challenger R/T at the Carlisle All-Chrysler Nationals
This original, well-documented 4-speed 440 Six Pack Challenger came out of Canada very rusty. Alan Glenn completed a full OE restoration and was able to finish just before bringing it to Carlisle. He had to do new rear frame rails, trunk floor, rear quarter panels, trunk extensions, door skins, hood, etc. Looks great now, though! Via the official Dodge YouTube channel. Check out the video after the jump!
Video From the Mopars Unlimited 5th Annual Fred Meyer Meet and Greet
I think I need a camera with a wider lens. And more skill. But anyway, check out two videos after the jump–one quick tour of the show, and one short video of the beautiful 4-speed Hemi Road Runner! And if you missed the pics yesterday, you can see them here.
