This year’s Concours d’Elegance of America at St. John’s will feature vintage NASCARs, including several very cool Mopars. Pictured below is the 1970 Plymouth Superbird formerly raced by Ramo Stott, which apparently was the first Superbird to score a victory in a NASCAR-sanctioned event at the 1970 ARCA 300 at Daytona. After the jump I have a pic of a very cool 1972 Dodge Challenger “Kit Car” developed by Petty Enterprises to help aspiring circle track racers. Running on Empty is an Australian cult car movie from 1982 which featured a pretty wild 1970 Dodge Challenger. Well, that car is on eBay now, and the seller claims it’s a numbers matching 440 6-pack car, too! Obviously it’s a right-hand drive car, and the Buy It Now is $149,000 Australian (about $137,000 US dollars). The second Mopar Top Eliminator was selected at the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals this weekend! Bill Man’s Plum Crazy 1970 Dodge Charger joins Miles Watsko’s 1964 Plymouth Savoy as a 2013 Mopar Top Eliminator winner. Just two more winners will be picked this year: a third at the Indianapolis NHRA U.S. Nationals events and a fourth will be selected online. Congrats Bill! More pics after the jump! Sebastian bought this very original looking California car in Hamburg, Germany, and it currently resides with him in Dresden. Can you imagine this burly American muscle on German roads? Must scare the crap out of AMGs and Porsches. It’s a numbers matching 4-speed 383 car. Sebastian added a Magnaflow X-pipe for a little extra growl. You may notice from the pics that he also owns a 1968 Dodge Charger…

Here’s another weird Daytona conversion for you guys. Two weeks ago I showed you this 1974 Dodge Charger “Daytona” on Craigslist. Well here’s a ’73 that was listed on eBay last week. Looks like it was bid up to $4,000 with the reserve not met. I don’t know, I’m thinking the seller should have taken the money and run. It’s refreshing to see an E-body convertible with its original small block drivetrain. This purple 4-speed 318 car is all numbers matching, restored about 12 years ago. It’s one of just 78 convertibles made with this engine and tranny combo in 1970. Great pics from its current home in Boca Raton, Florida.

Although this Daytona has a spotty race history with a bunch of DNFs, it is also the first car to do a lap at NASCAR at over 200 MPH (with famed driver Buddy Baker behind the wheel). And it did score first place at the Darlington Southern 500, again with Buddy driving. I don’t see a price listed, but Bob Severin posted on our Facebook page that it’s listed at Canepa in Scotts Valley, Califonia for $850,000. It’s also totally unrestored, which is super cool.
