Best Sleeper? 1989-1990 Dodge Caravan Turbo

Yahoo Autos recently published a list of “5 Killer Sleeper Cars” and one of them was the 1989 -1990 Dodge Caravan Turbo, which was available with a 2.5-liter turbo four banger and a five-speed manual. With 12 psi of boost, these grocery getters could run a 12 second quarter mile. In fact, I have video of one doing just that after the jump!

Five 1987 Shelby Charger GLHS’s Up For Auction

Considering they only built 1,000 1987 Shelby Charger GLHS’s, finding five of them in one place is pretty amazing. Condition varies from driver quality to project cars needing full restos, but this auction is definitely worth a look for fans of these cars. And for those not familiar with these cool 80s Mopars, there is some good into here. The car pictured below is car #55 of 1,000 with 88,500 original miles. The auction takes place on June 19. Dodge, Plymouth and Chrysler Conquest

We haven’t covered a lot of 80s cars so far. How about the Conquest, built by Mitsubishi and sold as a Dodge, Plymouth and Chrysler? They are becoming increasingly hard to find, especially in stock form. This one sold recently on eBay for $1,780 but it sounds like it had a blown motor. There is a good writeup on these increasingly rare cars over at Hemmings.

Cotton Owens Race Car Hauler on eBay

Cotton Owens, the famed NASCAR driver from the 50s, was featured in the April 2013 issue of Mopar Collectors Guide, and they recently inducted him into their Mopar Hall of Fame. He built this car hauler in 1987 using a 1977 D700 cab and chassis married to a 1980 Club Cab section. Power comes from a 413 engine backed up by a 5-Speed transmission. Pretty much the ultimate Mopar car hauler! Check out the pics and auction text after the jump! Via eBay
