2015 Dodge Challenger Details

Allpar has some details on the changes to the 2014 model year lineup for Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Ram. The Dodge Challenger is in its final year with the current body style and gets only minor tweaks to options packages. This year the colors include Header Orange, Redline 3 Coat, Plum Crazy, TorRed, Ivory Tri-coat and Phantom Black Tri-coat Pearl.

The real news is that the 2015 Dodge Challenger will see tweaks to the front and rear clip, plus it will get the 8-speed tranny, plus electronics similar to those found in the Dart and Cherokee. Read the full article at Allpar.

Today’s reader’s ride is Terry Couturier’s 1971 Plymouth Satellite, which he found in a barn eight years ago. It’s powered by a 360 which Terry rebuilt and stroked out to 408 cubic inches. After the jump I have pics of his son’s 1984 Ram and 2006 Ram.

Drag Strip Testing SRT Cars

Did you know that SRT puts its new cars through a rigorous test involving 100 runs at the drag strip in a single day?

Pass after pass completed until 50 is reached on three-season tires. Then drag tires are put on and the race to 50 begins again. This is all accomplished in a single day at the track.

This helps ensure that the drivetrain components are up the the task, and help Mopars dominate at the drag strip. Read the full article at DriveSRT.com

2014 Jeep Cherokee Getting Rave Reviews

Yeah, it looks funky. Yeah, it’s based on an Italian FWD platform. But, it sounds like it might be pretty darn good. Motor Trend hated the Viper but they seemed to like the new baby Jeep, saying, “The Cherokee can compete head to head with any of the modern small crossovers on the road. Off-road, it will bury them.” You can read a summary of some of the other reviews over at Allpar

Jalopnik’s 2013 Dodge Charger R/T Daytona Review

Jalopnik recently drove a 2013 Dodge Charger R/T Daytona all over Texas, and managed to snap a pic of it in front of the “Playboy Marfa” art installation I told you about last month. Although the reviewer seemed to like the car, he was disappointed by the 5-speed automatic and the quiet exhaust note. Oh, and the fuel economy. Well, the exhaust is an easy fix. Read the full review at Jalopnik and see what you think.
