When your father hosts a Youtube show called Hot Rod Hunt, you know good things will follow. Rick Moore purchased a barn find 1970 Charger R/T and gave it to his 13 year old son, Ricky, who’s favorite car is the 68-70 Charger. As it was a drag car, the 440 and 727 have very few miles and the car has only limited modifications. Ward Cleaver could learn a few things from this guy! Find the story at Street Legal TV. Charles Kee Collection in Brothers, Oregon
Did you want to go to the Lambrecht collection auction but live in the Northwest? Did you want to go but are only a Mopar fan? Well, here is your chance. The Charles Kee collection is going up for auction on May 8th and 9th in Brothers, Oregon. Where is Brothers, you ask? It’s in the middle of nowhere in Eastern Oregon, about an hour east of Bend, Oregon. It was a five hour drive for us from Olympia, Washington. Charles Kee was collecting cars to try to start a museum but unfortunately passed away before seeing his dreams come true.
This is an amazing collection of cars and parts but unfortunately a few years ago some Europeans came in and bought a bunch of the better cars from the collection. Most of what are left are C-bodies and 4-door Chryslers with a few scattered B- and A-bodies. Still some good projects in the bunch, however.
We got the opportunity to see the collection and have the scoop on the cars and parts that are going up for auction. Here are some general pictures and we are going to have more details on a few of the best cars. The auction is being run by James G. Murphy–here is a link to the preliminary catalog. Anyone want more info on any cars in particular?

Milburn Varner’s Race Car Collection
Check out Hot Rod for the story of Milburn Varner and his collection of Mopar cars that have sat untouched since he retired from the drag strip in the early seventies. He yanked the Hemi from a 1967 Belvedere GTX convertible to transplant to his race ‘Cuda! He still has both. He refuses to sell or restore, “I ain’t sellin’ this stuff–it’s all about braggin’ rights, and the money don’t mean as much as these old cars and all of the good memories they gave me.” That’s fine in my book but still, a bit of soap and water would do wonders. Reader’s Rides: Terry Mick’s 1969 Dodge Coronet R/T
Remember Steven Mick’s 1972 Duster that we posted last week? Well, his dad has a cool Mopar, too! Check out his 1969 Dodge Coronet R/T. It started life as with an automatic but now sports a A833 4-speed and a 8.75 rear w/3.55s. The heads have been ported and polished, heavier valve springs were installed, and its been cammed up with a MP Purple Shaft camshaft. The original interior was replaced with a Charger interior due to the original interior being in bad condition. More pics after the jump!
Vintage Dodge Dealer Photo – Shelton, Washington 1963
This is a photo of Pauley Motors in Shelton, Washington circa 1963. Yes they only had this many cars on the lot at one time, not every dealer can be Mr. Norm’s selling hundreds of cars a month! They were a Dodge only dealer until 1972 when they took over the Plymouth franchise from another dealer in town. They closed down the business around 1978 during the Chrysler bankruptcy.
