I think this is the first wagon we have featured on Reader’s Rides. Here’s the word from Pete:
My name I Pete, I’m out of Amityville, New York. This is Rocket, my 1967 Dodge Coronet 440 wagon with a 383 under the hood, posi rear and rotor front brakes. Just for the record, some of my friends and wife don’t understand why I bought a wagon. Theres something really tuff about a old souped up wagon that grabs my eye. I have a friend who works for DMV and he ran a search for other Dodge coronet wagons registered on Long Island. He found out that I have the only ’67 coronet 440 wagon (that is registered) on all of Long Island.

While not an original Max Wedge car, that engine compartment is still a thing of beauty! It’s purported to have been a Max Wedge race car for most of its life. Today it’s a retired race horse built to enjoy cruise nights. See more detail at Bring A Trailer. More pics after the jump!
Finding an old Mopar in a barn is getting harder. How about finding two Mopars in the same barn? A barn in Tennessee possesses a 1970 Super Bee Six Pack and a 1970 convertible Challenger! They’re not for sale but look to be in great shape and are at least somewhat out of the elements. The same can’t be said for the 1975 Gold Duster up in Connecticut that is almost completely devoured by brush. See the article at Cars in Barns. More pics after the jump!
Winter is here. So how about some pics of Mopars in the snow, courtesy of Moparts! More pics after the jump!
Want a 1968 Charger with a rare engine option? How about this survivor still sprouting it’s 225 ci six? It was second in rarity only to the Hemi. It was found in the lot of a Mopar restoration shop. Word is that the powertrain is staying. Good. I think it would draw more attention than one equipped with a crate Hemi. See more detail and a history of the Charger at Curbside Classics. We recently showed you a 1969 Hemi Dodge Charger 500 that’s for sale on eBay. See it here. Check out this back-in-the-day road test. I love the Dragnet-esque script. “This is one of the quickest ways I know of to do your thing. 426 cubic inches topped by hemispherical combustion chambers delivering 425 horsepower. That’s about one horse per cube. If that doesn’t excite you, you’d better check your pulse.” ‘Nuff said! Video after the jump.
Barn finds are just plain cool. Finding an old, dust covered Mopar that hasn’t seen the light of day for 20 plus years has a certain mystic. While the vision of a full blown restoration comes to mind for most, others want to keep that day of discovery feeling by way of NOT restoring them. Heck, not even cleaning them! The Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals acknowledges this trend with their Barn Find display. See the details at Hot Rod. More pics after the jump!
This is an extremely rare and extremely cool Mopar. Only 392 built and few still with Hemis like this one. More pics plus eBay auction text after the jump!
