Check out the picture below. A nice, clean 1969 Dodge Sweptline survivor that’s probably driven by some old guy, right? You’d only be right about the old guy part. The owner has highly modified his truck to allow him to tow his 53′ boat. Under the hood is a 12 valve Cummins that is sending power to a dually setup thru a 5-speed Spicer transmission which is also backed by a 10-speed Road Ranger like you’d find in a big rig. One seriously cool truck! Check out the story at BangShift. More pictures after the jump.

Slammed Charger SRT8

The lowering came thanks to a Universal Air suspension with BC coils and custom rear arms from Jay’s Hot Rods. The wheels were custom made by Avant Garde. Sized at 21×10.5-13 up front and 21×12.5-23 in the rear! Find more detail at StanceNation. More pictures after the jump!

Mr. Norm’s Hemi Dart Crosses the Auction Floor
At Mecum’s Illinois auction last week, a 1968 Hemi Dart that was sold new through Mr. Norm’s Chicago dealership 45 years ago sold for $125,000. Chrysler produced 80 Hemi Darts in 1968 with the help of Hurst, and Norm Krause’s Grand Spaulding Dodge dealership reportedly sold 13 of them! These were lightweight cars made for one purpose–to own the drag strip. A Hemi said to be pushing 600 hp in a 3150 lb car? Yep, sounds about right! Read more at StreetLegalTV. Dick Landy’s 1964 Dodge 330 on Hemmings
For sale – Dick Landy’s 1964 Dodge factory Hemi 330! One of fifty, aluminum-nosed B bodies built with the 426 Hemi engine. This very car won the MP/A class at the Hot Rod Magazine / NHRA race at Riverside held on June 12 -14 1964. This was the first drag win ever for a factory built 426 Hemi car at a major sanctioned race. It is the original body but with a repaint. Original interior except for new carpet. It has a replacement engine but the original 8 3/4 rear end. A definite piece of Mopar history. For sale for the fist time since 1978. See more here at Hemmings. More pictures after the jump!
Vintage Mopar NASCAR Photo of the Week: Cotton Owens at the 67 Daytona Firecracker 400
This photo of the #6 Cotton Owens Dodge Charger at speed was taken at the 1967 Daytona Firecracker 400. The #21 Ford in front is the Wood Brothers car driven by Cale Yarborough who went on to win the race.
Did you know that this was the car used in the Elvis movie Speedway? It is a terrible movie but very 60s. They did all the racing shots on the East Coast and all the close ups were in Hollywood using West Coast racer Jack McCoy’s Charger painted up like the Owens car.
1970 Challenger Needing Rescue
There’s not a lot of info on this Sublime Mopar exposed to the elements; only that it’s in Faulkton, SD and “owner refuses to sell.” The car still looks solid but that damp ground is a killer. See it at Cars in Barns.
