Lowest Original Mile A12 Super Bee in the World on eBay

This 1969 1/2 Dodge Super Bee definitely lived its life a quarter mile at a time. In fact, this Hemi Orange 440 6 Pack menace never ran on the street or was even registered. Today it has just 720 miles (the seller claims it is the lowest original mile A12 Super Bee in the world). Obviously, it has been restored, and it’s kind of sad that it doesn’t still wear the original paint and graphics from the time that it was raced by Wyman Collie in North Carolina. But it’s still super cool and for sale on eBay now! Tons of pics plus auction text with the full option list after the jump!

Demented Dart

Here’s another one from Barrett Jackson–this one from the 2012 Scottsdale auction. Price was set at $176,000 but there is no indication of whether or not it sold. Apparenlty this was the only Hemi Dart exported to Canada and it raced quite successfully as the “Demented Dart.” At some point it lost the cool blue paint scheme you see here in favor for red. You can see the pics of what it looked like at the time of auction after the jump!

Movie Mopar of the Week: 1974 Dodge Monaco from The Blues Brothers

The Challenger from Vanishing Point might be the most famous movie Mopar to Mopar folks, but The Blues Brother’s 1974 Dodge Monaco might just be the most famous movie Mopar ever. And it definitely made the 440 famous! “It’s got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It’s got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It’s a model made before catalytic converters so it’ll run good on regular gas.” They used a total of 13 cars during the shoot, which has some of the best chase scenes ever. Like the famous mall chase scene after the jump!

Best Sleeper? 1989-1990 Dodge Caravan Turbo

Yahoo Autos recently published a list of “5 Killer Sleeper Cars” and one of them was the 1989 -1990 Dodge Caravan Turbo, which was available with a 2.5-liter turbo four banger and a five-speed manual. With 12 psi of boost, these grocery getters could run a 12 second quarter mile. In fact, I have video of one doing just that after the jump!

Dodge Death Story Won’t Go Away

In the last 24 hours there have been posts on the Dodge death story by both Jalopnik and Autoblog. But they both point back to that same Ward’s article. Funny how the news cycle works, isn’t it? Ok, so if all the minivans go to Chrysler and the Durango and Avenger go away, that still leaves Challenger, Charger, Dart and Journey. I don’t know. To paraphrase Mark Twain, I’d say the reports of Dodge’s death have been greatly exaggerated. Still, at some point someone from Chrysler is going to have to come forward and say something. Ralph?

Sox and Martin Collector Series Hemi ‘Cuda

This photo shoot was done back in 2010 to promote the Sox and Martin Collector Series Hemi Cuda built by Mr. Norm’s Garage in conjunction with Diane Sox, but it is so ridiculously awesome I’m dropping it here. That ’68 S S&M Hemi Barracuda is amazing. More pics after the jump! Via Autoblog

Reader’s Rides: Joshua Hannah’s 2002 Dodge Dakota 4.7

Here’s our second reader’s ride, from Joshua Hannah of Arkansas.

This is my work in progress daily driver. I drive the piss out of this truck. I have done several visual, performance and weight saving mods. I have a long list of plans for the truck. I’m pretty much done in the looks department. On the interior I am going to have all door panels, trim and dash fabricated out of aluminum. The floor will be and top of the cab will be painted. Performance wise I want to put a fuel cell in the bed, put in a four link rear suspension/upgrade the front suspension and build a fresh motor. It may take me a few more years, but I love this truck!

Keep the awesome Mopars coming to: moparblog at gmail dot com! And you can see more pics of Joshua’s cool Dakota plus his Mopar tattoo after the jump!

2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Core: 470 horsepower for Just $38,995

As DodgeForum points out, the 2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Core is the most powerful car you can buy under $40,000. Mopar has always been about performance bang for the buck and the Core gets you just that: basically a stripped down, no-nonsense SRT8 Challenger. Here’s how the guys at SRT describe it:

The new 2013 Challenger SRT Core vehicle stands out thanks to its black grille and functional rear spoiler, ‘392’ badge on the front fender and 20-inch cast aluminum five-spoke wheels with black-painted pockets. Brembo® brakes stay and are finished in black for a more understated appearance. The SRT Viper lends its ballistic cloth material to the Challenger SRT Core for aggressively bolstered seats in Dark Slate Gray. Door inserts are finished in an “Axle” textile and a mini-carbon bezel instrument panel completes the appearance.

We describe it as everything you want, and nothing you don’t need. Build yours here. Pic of the Plum Crazy 2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Core via Challengertalk
