The Other Auctions: RM and Gooding
Yesterday we decided to hit the other Arizona auctions that do not have a lot of Mopar stuff but still have some interesting cars. RM is a very high end auction with mostly European cars, Ferrari’s and older cars. Gooding has a nice mix of stuff as well and is similar to RM but the cars are not as high end. Gooding had an “as found” theme going on with three cars still covered in dust and grime going up for auction.
These cars were from RM and includes a couple of Imperials, a Hemi powered Facel Vega, and a Chrysler 300B. More pics after the jump!
Day 1 at Barrett-Jackson
Today was the first day of cars going across the block at Barrett Jackson and it was a very fun and exciting day. They have an all new facility this year with over 1,000,000 square feet of space! It is amazing how big this place it and they are selling over 1,400 cars from Tuesday to Sunday. Here are a couple of cars that stood out to us, we will post many more later this week with more info on what we thought of them. Here are a few teaser shots, will go more in depth on these later. A Two Car Barn Find
Finding an old Mopar in a barn is getting harder. How about finding two Mopars in the same barn? A barn in Tennessee possesses a 1970 Super Bee Six Pack and a 1970 convertible Challenger! They’re not for sale but look to be in great shape and are at least somewhat out of the elements. The same can’t be said for the 1975 Gold Duster up in Connecticut that is almost completely devoured by brush. See the article at Cars in Barns. More pics after the jump!
Barn Finds at the MCACN 2013
Barn finds are just plain cool. Finding an old, dust covered Mopar that hasn’t seen the light of day for 20 plus years has a certain mystic. While the vision of a full blown restoration comes to mind for most, others want to keep that day of discovery feeling by way of NOT restoring them. Heck, not even cleaning them! Two Dodges Awaiting Rebirth
Why do people let these beauties decay like this? If you’re keeping them to someday rebuild them then fine but at least take steps to stop any further deterioration. If you’re waiting for the market prices to climb in order to sell them then fine but, again, at least take steps to stop any further deterioration!
