Tim Wellborn has amassed an incredible collection of muscle cars over the years. At Mecum’s Kissimmee auction in January, half of his 46 cars will be crossing the auction block. With his first taste of muscle cars being his father’s 1971 Dodge Charger, he has always held Mopars in high esteem. Of the 23 cars going to auction, 15 are Mopars! This week’s Muscle Car of the Week is the 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A. The Trans Am Series inspired, small block equipped E-body was actually the first car in US history to be equipped with two different sized tires. All-black Challengers with steelies just look mean. Video after the jump!

Hot Rod magazine’s Ryan Brutt stumbled upon a shop that appears to specialize in Mopars. While the exterior looks like a graveyard, given the fact that the shop houses restored Mopars, one can only hope that these diamonds in the rough are only biding their time until they shine again. This week, Muscle Car of the Week is featuring a 1971 Hemi Cuda. They have highlighted other Hemi Cudas in the past but this one is unique in that it’s a survivor. Does it get any better? Video after the jump!
Bring A Trailer recently highlighted this Hemi-powered Barracuda, which was built for endurance racing in Europe, including the Spa Classic. It’s currently for sale in France at the Ascot Collection. This historic drag car has lived many lives. It was first raced in 1969 by Fred Goseke as a 1969 Road Runner. Marv Eldridge then re-bodied it as a 1970 Challenger, named it “LA Challenger,” and participated in the 1970 Cavalcade of Stars tour. It was later sold to Bob Taylor who raced it as the “Time Machine II.” It was then sold again and raced under the name “Trail Blazer.” The current owner embarked on a complete restoration to return it to it’s Marv Eldridge’s “LA Challenger” days. Barn Finds spied this 1970 Challenger R/T survivor on eBay. It is equipped with its original 440 and 727. Reportedly last licenced in 1989, it was pulled from its tomb and given a mechanical refresh including the brakes and fuel system. They were, however, apparently careful not to remove the dust. Follow the bidding here on eBay. I wonder what kind of reserve this beauty has. More pics after the jump!
