A Slant Six Gathering

Often referred to as bullet proof, the Chrysler slant 6 engine has developed quite a loyal following. In production from 1960 to 1991, it powered many different vehicles, including this 1963 Valiant.  A recent Slant Six Gathering in San Francisco brought together more than 50 Chrysler vehicles powered by the straight 6 engine with the 30 degree slant. The rules of the occasion: no judges, no trophies, no tickets, no rules. I like it! Find the Slant Six Gathering here. More info on the venerable slant six can be found at Allpar.

Mopar-modified Vehicles Headed for SEMA

Chrysler plans on unveiling 20+ new concepts at SEMA this year. The concepts will come from all corners of the Chrysler brands spectrum, with Jeep, Fiat and Ram all getting in on the action. Chrysler has only released four teaser images which can be seen below. The images appear to be a decked out Jeep Cherokee, a Chrysler 300, a Fiat 500L, and Ram 1500. It’s hard to guess exactly what we will get when SEMA finally arrives on November 5th, but Mopar seems to be gearing up for a take over. Press release and more pics after the jump! You can also read more on the Mopar website.

And yes, Mopar blog will have full coverage of the Mopar booth at SEMA!

1968 Dodge Charger 383 4-Speed on eBay

Speaking of green Chargers… here’s a nice one–just one owner til August of last year. Not quite restored or a “survivor,” but just a very well maintained and loved rust-free Arizona 4-speed car. Other than the sagging leaf springs it doesn’t seem like there is a whole lot you’d have to address on this cool big block B-body. More pics plus eBay ad text after the jump!

Street Hemis Featured at Hemmings Concourse d’Elegance

Ma Mopar’s elephant engine got some serious respect this weekend in New York’s Saratoga Spa State Park at Hemmings Motor News Concourse d’Elegance. I wish I lived anywhere near there! I can almost hear that sweet lumpy idle. The article in Hemmings gives a great synopsis of the engine that dominated NASCAR. Read about it here.

Update: you can see some pics here.
