If the new Renegade doesn’t grab you, how about an SRT version? Strictly a digital rendering by X-Tomi Design, it kinda doesn’t look half bad. Find more info at Carscoops.

The Next Generation Jeep Wrangler?
A new suspension for the next rendition of the Jeep Wrangler (2017 model year?) continues to generate stories. Allpar research indicates a possible new long travel independent suspension system based on an old Jeep suspension. Find more detail at Allpar. (The photo is an artists conception of a more aerodynamic Wrangler).
Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 in the 10s
So you like the Grand Cherokee but, even in SRT8 trim, it’s still not fast enough for you? How about a 10.88 quarter mile at 123 mph? This one is also a daily driver! Built by High Horse Performance, it generates 600 horsepower at the rear wheels. See more info at Street Legal TV. Video after the jump!
The Jeep Grand Wagoneer May Return
Hot on the heels of the Geneva debut of the littlest Jeep, the Renegade, there is talk of a new full size Jeep model as well. The Grand Wagoner nameplate may return and find it’s way onto a vehicle a size larger than the Grand Cherokee. Suburbans and Yukon XLs are selling well. Why not? Find more info at autoevolution.
Next Generation Wrangler May Get a Power Retractable Top
Some tidbits about the next Wrangler, possibly debuting in 2016, include an optional power retractable top, a fixed windshield (to improve safety) and the elimination of the heavy spare tire hanging off the back (to increase fuel economy). There are still rumors of an independent front suspension as well. I’m starting to get a little worried. See more at autoevolution.
Meet the New Fiat-based Jeep: the 2015 Renegade
Jalopnik posted this pic today. Supposedly it’s based on the same platform that underpins the Fiat 500L. What do you think?
Vintage Jeep Ads
I’m not going to make any references to “the good ol’ days” but these ads harken back to a simpler time. Boy, they were the good ol’ days. See more pics after the jump and even more at Petrolicious.
More Awards for Chrysler
Autobytel has awarded the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee their SUV of the Year award. In their words, “The Autobytel 2014 SUV of the Year category had a clear winner since day 1.” Their choice for the 2014 Pickup Truck of the Year? Ram 1500. Again. Details at Autobytel. It may be time to buy a new trophy case.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Super Bowl Ads
Well, no one saw that Maserati Ghibli ad coming. So that was a bit of a surprise. The 200 and Jeep ads were decent but not terribly thrilling. But you could say the same for the game. Does Bob Dylan make a good pitchman? See all three ads after the jump!
Dirt Every Day Buys a 1978 Jeep CJ7
Dirt Everyday’s Fred Williams buys a 78 CJ7 sight unseen and does some upgrades to the wiring and rear axle to get it somewhat road worthy. Episode two is a Texas to New Mexico road trip. Both video episodes after the jump!
