Movie Mopar of the Week: 1971 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible from The Brady Bunch

This week’s movie Mopar is the 1971 Plymouth Barracuda convertible from the Brady Bunch. It’s a plain jain B5 318 automatic car, but of course any 1971 Barracuda convertible is cool cause they made so few of them–just 722 in total. I had a hard time finding any clips with the Barracuda on YouTube, but I did manage to find one where Greg is at a drive-in with a date, only to have Bobby screw it up (along with the Barracuda’s convertible top). Check it out after the jump! Movie Mopar of the Week: 1974 Dodge Monaco from The Blues Brothers

The Challenger from Vanishing Point might be the most famous movie Mopar to Mopar folks, but The Blues Brother’s 1974 Dodge Monaco might just be the most famous movie Mopar ever. And it definitely made the 440 famous! “It’s got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It’s got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It’s a model made before catalytic converters so it’ll run good on regular gas.” They used a total of 13 cars during the shoot, which has some of the best chase scenes ever. Like the famous mall chase scene after the jump!

Green Hornet Movie Car on eBay

Here it is, the 1965 Chrysler Imperial used in the 2011 Green Hornet movie. According to the seller it is the only Black Beauty that kept its original interior and original 413 engine. It is also the Black Beauty that Jay Leno drove on Jay Leno’s Garage. See a ton more pics plus more details from the eBay auction, plus the Jay Leno video after the jump! Thanks to Darren for the tip!

Movie Mopar of the Week: 1972 Plymouth Road Runner from Love and a .45

I saw this in the theaters when it came out back in the early 90s. Kind of a Tarantino ripoff type thing, before Renée Zellweger got famous. But the real star of the movie is the blue ’72 Road Runner. Check out the movie trailer after the jump! If you haven’t seen it you can stream it on Netflix!

Original Dukes of Hazzard General Lee at 2013 Mopars Unlimited Spring Roundup

What Mopar show would be complete without a General Lee? But this one is legit and fully documented. It was used during the last few seasons of the show, has had the same owner the last 20+ years and is unchanged from the day it left the Warner Brothers lot. More pics plus video after the jump!

You think Vin Diesil’s Daytona is cool? What about Joe Dirt’s Daytona? There is a great writeup on this car over at Californiaclassix. Can you believe the original movie car sold for just $18,000 back in 2002?

Joe Dirt fans should also check out our blog on Joe Dirt’s 1967 GTX convertible. Oh, and check out the video after the jump!
