Hemmings recently did an update on Miss Belvedere, the 1957 Plymouth that was entombed in an underground vault/time capsule in Tulsa OK. 50 years later, in 2007, one lucky Tulsaite was to win the perfectly preserved car! Unfortunately, things didn’t quite work out as planned. More pics of the car after the jump.

Milburn Varner’s Race Car Collection
Check out Hot Rod for the story of Milburn Varner and his collection of Mopar cars that have sat untouched since he retired from the drag strip in the early seventies. He yanked the Hemi from a 1967 Belvedere GTX convertible to transplant to his race ‘Cuda! He still has both. He refuses to sell or restore, “I ain’t sellin’ this stuff–it’s all about braggin’ rights, and the money don’t mean as much as these old cars and all of the good memories they gave me.” That’s fine in my book but still, a bit of soap and water would do wonders. 1970 Plymouth Barracuda to be Saved
This 1970 Barracuda was recently purchased by owner number two after sitting neglected for 15 years. The new owner is taking a rather unique approach to it’s restoration. “I’m taking donations for the restoration, every donor can have a ride when it’s done!” Good luck with that. Find the story at Cars in Barns. More pics after the jump!

Reader’s Rides: Steven Mick’s 1972 Plymouth Duster
Today’s reader’s ride is Steven Mick’s 1972 Plymouth Duster. It started out as a Slant 6 car with a 904 auto and a 7.25 rear end. But now it has a 360 (out of a 1977 Chrysler Cordoba), Keith Black flat head pistons, Mopar Performance Purple Shaft Camshaft, MP High Rise single plain intake manifold, ported and polished original heads, Edelbrock AVS 750cfm 4brl carb, A833 4 spd transmission and a 8.75 rear end. Steven says, “I still have work that I would like to do but with some fine tuning still needed she runs great!” More pics after the jump!
