Two Newfoundland Mopars Need Saving

This Road Runner and Lil’ Red Express are sitting behind a Chrysler dealership in Newfoundland, Canada. Surely, somebody at the dealership realizes that they need to be saved. The spooky part? I’m from Newfoundland and the plate on the Road Runner has the same three letters and is less than 400 numbers removed from a car that I registered there in 1984! I gotta get home for a visit, real soon! Find more info at Cars in Barns. More pics after the jump!

What Road Runners Are Made Of

Here’s an illustration that Hot Rod Magazine used in their review of a 1968 Plymouth Road Runner in their November 1967 issue. Back then Editor Eric Dahlquist wrote:

“And that, pal, is what Road Runners are made of. It’s a supercar in every sense of the term but one—price. That’s why you’re going to love it. The accessories, a very few, like the Hemi, are there, but the basic package will blow the doors off almost anything in the asphalt jungle, and some of those cats cost a grand more. You can do a lot with that extra thousand dollars.”

Pretty cool, huh? Via Hot Rod

1968 Hemi Road Runner Survivor

“All go, no show” is a fitting description for this plain jane Road Runner coupe (unless you rightly consider Hemi badging as a “show” item). A two-owner car, it has been with owner number two since 1975 and is still mostly a survivor car. This one is a driver. Find more info on this rare bird at Mopar Max Magazine. More pics after the jump!
