Autoguide has chosen the Ram 1500 as the top truck for 2014. Ram has not been one to shy away from new technology. The industry’s first eight speed transmission and airbag suspension, as well as the first to return to diesel powered half tons, helped to seal top spot. Last place? Ford. See more detail at Allpar.

Mopar-modified Vehicles Headed for SEMA
Chrysler plans on unveiling 20+ new concepts at SEMA this year. The concepts will come from all corners of the Chrysler brands spectrum, with Jeep, Fiat and Ram all getting in on the action. Chrysler has only released four teaser images which can be seen below. The images appear to be a decked out Jeep Cherokee, a Chrysler 300, a Fiat 500L, and Ram 1500. It’s hard to guess exactly what we will get when SEMA finally arrives on November 5th, but Mopar seems to be gearing up for a take over. Press release and more pics after the jump! You can also read more on the Mopar website.
And yes, Mopar blog will have full coverage of the Mopar booth at SEMA!
Mr. Norm’s Sports Club
It’s been 50 years since Mr. Norm opened Grand Spaulding Dodge in 1963. Coinciding with the delivery of his first order of Dodges, which consisted of nothing less than four truckloads of Max Wedge sedans and hardtops, he started the Mr. Norm’s Sports Club. In commemoration of his 50th Anniversary, Norm would like to invite everyone in the Mopar community to join him in celebrating this milestone with a free one-year membership in the legendary Mr. Norm’s Sports Club. Just like in the ‘60s, everyone will receive the monthly newsletter that has the latest news and scoops, along with discounts on Mr. Norm’s memorabilia, parts, accessories and vehicle packages for Mopars. Sign up here at Mr. Norms.
New Compact Ram?
Allpar reports on a possible new compact Ram pickup. Target market is outside the US, but some may find their way here should fuel prices suddenly rise. Sized more like the Ram 50 than the Dakota, the exact platform to be used is still unknown. Speculative renderings vary wildly but the Charger platform based one (extremely unlikely) would sure be cool!

Introducing the 2013 Ram 1500 Black Express
Ram just announced the arrival of the new “Black Express” model for 2013, which they are calling the “‘baddest-looking’ factory-built truck on the market.” Pretty much everything on this bad boy is black, from the 20 inch wheels to the black front fascia and black grille surround with black hex-link inserts, all the way to the black rear bumper. All body-side badging has been removed for a clean, menacing look. The Black Express is powered by a 5.7-liter Hemi producing 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque. Pricing starts at $26,955, plus the usual $1,095 destination charge. One more pic after the jump, plus the full press release from Ram.
