Am I the only one who finds Top Gear annoying? Seems like everyone thinks this show is brilliant, but I find it painful to watch. This episode with Richard Hammond reviewing a 1968 Dodge Charger 440 R/T is especially painful. Maybe they should stick to European cars. The BBC only makes a small clip available, but there is a full episode in Russian on YouTube (least until the BBC makes YouTube pull it down). But you can watch the official BBC clip after the jump!
Don Johnson’s show Nash Bridges ran from 1996 to 2001. This was just before E-body convertible prices went sky high. Still, 1971 ‘Cudas are very rare so the show modified a bunch of 1970 Cudas to look like 1971s. Here’s some info from the seller of the claimed “Nash Bridges #1” car that was on eBay last year:
The show used 3 or 4 cars. They were ALL 1970 cars with ’71 features. This was Don’s favorite car that was driven often. During the show’s run, he had the car fitted with a 360 V8 and 4-speed with a shattershield. This (Nash #1) car eventually received a full-on rotisserie restoration and a crate Hemi engine. Also, a brighter color was chosen for all the cars during filming. It was found the correct yellow made the car look green to the camera.

Check out Adam’s super cool 1978 Dodge W150, which he calls his “never ending project.” This truck lives in Salt Lake City, Utah and has a 3/4 ton drive-train, suspension, 318 long block, RT heads and over size cam. More pics after the jump!

This year’s Concours d’Elegance of America at St. John’s will feature vintage NASCARs, including several very cool Mopars. Pictured below is the 1970 Plymouth Superbird formerly raced by Ramo Stott, which apparently was the first Superbird to score a victory in a NASCAR-sanctioned event at the 1970 ARCA 300 at Daytona. After the jump I have a pic of a very cool 1972 Dodge Challenger “Kit Car” developed by Petty Enterprises to help aspiring circle track racers. You can read a lot more about these cars and the other non-Mopar NASCARs to be displayed over at Hemmings.
Running on Empty is an Australian cult car movie from 1982 which featured a pretty wild 1970 Dodge Challenger. Well, that car is on eBay now, and the seller claims it’s a numbers matching 440 6-pack car, too! Obviously it’s a right-hand drive car, and the Buy It Now is $149,000 Australian (about $137,000 US dollars). Not sure this is Mopar news, exactly, but it’s some pretty creative adverting from Fiat. I guess this is the Fiat version of a muscle car. Video on the making of the ad after the jump!
Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee just started its second season, but for the third episode of season one they featured a 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A with comedian Brian Regan.
