I agree that FCA/Chrysler/Dodge has great commercials. I do have a problem with the accuracy of the history of the Dodge brothers. At least one of the commercials indicate that they “quit Henry Ford” but they never worked for Ford. They were entrepreneurs in their own right. They patented a sealed bearing (don’t remember if it was needled, ball, or roller). They built engines and transmissions for Ransom E. Olds the founder of Oldsmobile, and I believe they supplied rear end assemblies and other drivetrain components before they started producing their own automobiles.
Some people don’t care if they use historical fact accuracy. I’d prefer that they would since myth becomes fact in the public’s mind so easily that history is distorted and permanently colored by the inaccuracies.
Besides, I think it’s more impressive that they supplied Oldsmobile and Ford before creating their own automobile, as opposed to working for Henry.
