Watch the Transformation of the Defiance Charger
Defiance is a new post-apocalpytic show on the Syfy channel. I haven’t seen it yet but this new trailer looks cool, especially since it features a Dodge Charger transforming into some kind of Mad Max zombie killler. Check out the trailer after the jump!
Surprise Package: a Max Wedge-powered ’57 Chevy
Ok, how’s this for a barn find? A 1957 Chevy Bel Air gasser with a 426 Wax Wedge, B&M Torqueflite transmission, and 8 3/4 Chrysler rear end. The motor was formerly a spare for one of Jerry Stein’s “Teacher’s Pet” cars. The car was drug out of hiding in Pennsylvania back in February–here’s hoping the new owners keep it intact! Hellcat Hemi Could Be Out This Summer
According to the folks at Allpar, Ma Mopar is planning to drop a supercharged 6.2 liter Hemi producing close to 600 hp into SRT versions of the Challenger, Charger and 300. And this engine could make an appearance as early as this summer! Get the full scoop at Allpar!
One of None Four Door 1970 Plymouth Road Runner on eBay
Ok, this is kind of an amusing concept, but I still have to ask: why? Definitely won’t be able to recoup the investment! Ad text plus more pics after the jump! Check out the auction on eBay! Love the burnt orange on these.
Tons of Cool Mopars in New Pennzoil Commercial
Saw this on TV while getting a haircut last week. Love the old Challenger and ’66 Satellite convertible! Check it out after the jump!
Movie Mopar of the Week: 1976 AMC Pacer from Wayne’s World
We love AMCs at Mopar Blog, and Garth’s 1976 AMC Pacer is probably the most famous movie AMC. Check it out in the Bohemian Rhapsody scene after the jump!
Cotton Owens Race Car Hauler on eBay
Cotton Owens, the famed NASCAR driver from the 50s, was featured in the April 2013 issue of Mopar Collectors Guide, and they recently inducted him into their Mopar Hall of Fame. He built this car hauler in 1987 using a 1977 D700 cab and chassis married to a 1980 Club Cab section. Power comes from a 413 engine backed up by a 5-Speed transmission. Pretty much the ultimate Mopar car hauler! Check out the pics and auction text after the jump! Via eBay
Mr. Norm’s Van
Did you know that Mr. Norm helped start the 70s van craze? Neither did I. From Golden State Performance:
Mr. Norm developed the conversion van concept as a substitute for the declining market share in muscle cars and scored another first. He opened a van department in the fleet office to supply the burgeoning van conversion business with vehicles. He purchased 280,000-sq. ft. of additional property to store the increasing automotive inventory. Grand Spaulding became the Number Two Dodge dealership in volume sales.
Anyway, check out this crazy van purchased off Mr. Norm’s lot in 1977. Via Moparts
2015 Dodge Charger
Allpar has some interesting stuff on the 2015 Dodge Charger. They are currently expecting a mild refresh for 2015 to carry over until the big RWD Chrysler cars are completely redesigned (somewhere in the 2017 to 2020 range). Right now they are expecting a 6.2 liter Hemi pushing around 580 horsepower, updated electronics such as UConnect 2, Via Mobile and parking aids, eight-speed trannies for all motors (not just the V6 cans) and perhaps some suspension tuning. The rendering below shows some influence by the Maserati Ghibli. You can read more at Allpar
