1966 Coronet 426. Muscle Car of the Week
The 1966 Dodge Coronet 440 Hemi is this weeks Muscle Car of the Week. It was the birth of the street Hemi. A plain Jane wrapper only seems fitting. This car was all about go. And go it did. Video after the jump!
1966 Hemi Charger – Muscle Car of the Week
Looking mean in black is this week’s Muscle Car of the Week, a 1966 Dodge Hemi Charger. Video after the jump!
All Original 1966 Plymouth Barracuda
This is one incredibly clean first generation numbers matching Barracuda. An eBay purchase that was slightly misrepresented, the new owner restored the car to stock condition and did one hell of a job. Find more info at Street Legal TV. More pics after the jump!
Barn Find 1966 Charger
Barn Finds has proof that, well, barn finds are still out there. This 1966 318 Charger was reportedly owned by the same family since 1966 and was parked in 1978. It had a price of $2300 with no reserve but the seller has decided to end the eBay auction early. More pics after the jump!
1966 Plymouth Satellite El Camino Conversion on Detroit Craigslist
Actually doesn’t look that bad and the price is right at $2,900. Two more pics after the jump! Via Craigslist
1966 Dodge Coronet Moonshine Runner
Recipe for a car to run moonshine: 1. A big block Mopar (of course) in a nondescript color. 2. Extra rear leaf springs to maintain a stock ride height when laden down with moonshine. 3. A rear light disconnect switch for running in stealth mode. Bring A Trailer is featuring this 1966 4-speed Hemi Coronet that once belonged to moonshine runner Wily Clay Call. The 426 is not original but all else appears to be. Now I’ve got that Steve Earl song in my head. Find the original ad DC Classic Cars. More pics after the jump!
Non Stock 1966 Dodge Coronet 440 For Sale
Curbside Classic has located this 1966 Coronet on a used car lot. The author, a self-proclaimed fan of mid-sixties Mopars, takes issue with the many “custom touches” this B-body has been subjected to. We tend to agree. From the bumblebee stripe, 90’s seats and console, black grill and rather unique color, this girl needs saving! However, at an asking price of $11,000, that day may be later rather than sooner. Find more info at Curbside Classic. More pics after the jump!
A Nesting Couple
A 1969 Formula S Barracuda and a 1966 Coronet convertible appear to have been side by side for quite some time. Seems like a shame to break them up. No chance of that happening in the immediate future–they’re not for sale. As found on Cars in Barns. One more pic after the jump!
Hot Rod Tests The-New-For-1966 Street Hemi
In September 1965, Hot Rod was invited to Chrysler’s Chelsea Proving Grounds to test drive a 1966 Coronet with the new 426 street Hemi. The review was favorable. (Pretty much a given if you can get air under all four tires!) Find more detail at Hot Rod. More pics after the jump!
