1969 Dodge Charger Wrecked

This story is from a few years back. And I don’t know that it really proves anything. But I’m posting it anyway.

The photo below shows what this beautiful 1969 Dodge Charger looked like before the wreck. If you have the stomach for it, click through to see what the Charger looked like after it got t-boned by a large truck and then slammed into a guard rail. Thankfully the driver was ok. Via RideLust

M-Code Dart on eBay

Back in 1969, just 640 M-Code 440-powered Darts were built for Chrysler by the Hurst-Campbell Corporation. Most of them were sold to drag racers, who then beat the living snot out of them. Today only about 30 cars are known to exist, and one of them is on eBay now for $99,900. This one looks to be a fully restored, numbers matching car. Manual steering, manual drum brakes and a 375 hp 440 under the hood. What is more pure than that? More pics plus the auction text after the jump!

Video From the Mopars Unlimited 5th Annual Fred Meyer Meet and Greet

I think I need a camera with a wider lens. And more skill. But anyway, check out two videos after the jump–one quick tour of the show, and one short video of the beautiful 4-speed Hemi Road Runner! And if you missed the pics yesterday, you can see them here.

Reader’s Rides: Christian Färdig’s 1969 Plymouth Road Runner

Here’s another burly Mopar from Sweden. Christian purchased the yellow B-body off eBay back in 2010 and had it shipped across the Atlantic from Florida. It’s powered by a 440 with forged pistons, Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum cylinder heads, Weiand Tunnel Ram Intake and Holley 600 carbs. It has a Coolit radiator with dual fans, ceramic coated headers and 3″ Flowmaster exhaust. It’s got a 727 transmission with a 3000 stall converter. It’s been tubed in the rear and has a full roll cage. Lots more pics after the jump!

SRT Viper Presentation in San Carlos, California

Yesterday I drove out to a cool SRT Viper event in San Carlos with my buddy Mike Musto in his 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona. I’ll try to post some video next week (I hope, if I can edit it into something half decent) but for now I thought you’d like to see the pics.

The event was sponsored by the Western Automotive Journalists and featured author Maurice Liang along with President and CEO of SRT Ralph Gilles. Maurice Liang is the founder of the Viper Club of America and just published SRT Viper: America’s Supercar Returns. Maurice talked about writing the book and everything that went into designing and building the third generation Viper. Then it was Ralph’s turn, and he talked about how important the Viper is to Chrysler, and how much Viper owners and Mopar enthusiasts mean to the company (and in attendance was D’Anne Rauh, who owns over 60 Vipers).

When the Q and A portion came around, I asked Ralph about the new RWD Alfa platform and what that might mean for Dodge. No comment from Ralph on that one…

The event was held at Sparky’s Hot Rod Garage, which was filled with a lot of 50s and 60s nostalgia. There was good food and cold beer. And when we were done we went back outside to check out the cars some more. Thanks to SRT and WAJ for putting on this cool event. TONS more pics after the jump!

1969 Plymouth Identity Crisis on Craigslist

Lets see, this Plymouth B-body has a a GTX deck lid panel, Road Runners on the doors and… Super Bee stripes???? (Not to mention the dreaded Chevy black spray bomb engine bay.) The guys at Moparts are calling it a “Bee-T-X.” Cool car, though, so the $11,500 asking price doesn’t seem totally unreasonable. Someone should get it and take it to a good therapist ASAP. More pics plus text from the Craigslist ad after the jump!

Reader’s Rides: William Robey’s 1969 Dodge Dart GTS

Check out William’s beautiful 4-speed Dart GTS out of Leesburg, Virginia. Here’s the word from William:

I have had the car for five years. The car was done when I  got it. I have had two other 1969s–one back in high school which was a 1969 Swinger with a 273 hi-pro in it. The  second we did a build with a 383 in it but builds are so time consuming so I was looking for one done to start driving and enjoying. Wish I had picture from last year car was setting on 50 yard line at Washington Redskin training camp. Sold a 1969 Chevy Nova and 1970 Chevelle 454 to get this one. Great move on my part car will never leave my hands. The car will sit and rust before kids even get it.

This was originally a 383 car but now has a 440 bored to 492. It has a hydraulic clutch and stainless steel exhaust. See more pics after the jump!
