Reader’s Rides: Ryan Dean’s 1970 Dodge Challenger Convertible

It’s refreshing to see an E-body convertible with its original small block drivetrain. This purple 4-speed 318 car is all numbers matching, restored about 12 years ago. It’s one of just 78 convertibles made with this engine and tranny combo in 1970. Great pics from its current home in Boca Raton, Florida.

Cotton Owens 1970 Dodge Charger Daytona For Sale

Although this Daytona has a spotty race history with a bunch of DNFs, it is also the first car to do a lap at NASCAR at over 200 MPH (with famed driver Buddy Baker behind the wheel). And it did score first place at the Darlington Southern 500, again with Buddy driving. I don’t see a price listed, but Bob Severin posted on our Facebook page that it’s listed at Canepa in Scotts Valley, Califonia for $850,000. It’s also totally unrestored, which is super cool. More pics after the jump!

1970 Dodge Challenger T/A on Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee

Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee just started its second season, but for the third episode of season one they featured a 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A with comedian Brian Regan. Check out that episode at comediansincarsgettingcoffee.com and check out a video from 2012 featuring the car used in the shoot after the jump! Hopefully Jerry will feature some more cool Mopars soon!

Hemi Superbird Barn Find

You’re looking at a very orginal 4-speed 1970 Hemi Superbird with just 14,000 miles. FJ5 Limelight Green with a white bucket seat interior. The current owner bought it in 1972 in the condition you see in the pics below–the original Hemi had spun a bearing and had been placed in the trunk! The Superbird was stored in Oaklahoma until just recently. Now it’s in Illinois with Magnum Auto Restoration and is about to undergo a full restoration. More pics after the jump! Via Moparts

AAR ‘Cuda Burns

Not sure where or when this happened, all we know is it’s sad. The guys at Moparts speculate that the fire was the result of a flammable glass reproduction air cleaner assembly and rubber fuel line. Apparently the owner ran through his only fire extinguisher quickly but wasn’t able to stop the blaze. All he could do was stand there and take pics til the fire deparment showed up. More pics of the carnage after the jump!
