Production of 2013 Dodge Dart GT Has Started

Dodge started building 2013 Dart GTs last week at the Belvidere Assembly Plant in Belvidere, Illinois, and they are available now for ordering. Base MRSP is $20,995, not including destination. The Dart GT is powered by the 184 horsepower 2.4-liter Tigershark four cylinder and is available with either a six-speed manual or six-speed auto. 18-inch aluminum wheels and perforated Nappa heated leather seats are standard. The GT also features a sport suspension, unique front fascia, LED taillamps, integrated dual exhaust, an 8.4-inch touchscreen and a 7-inch TFT. It’s not the Dart SRT4 that many people have been waiting for, but it’s still a cool little package. More pics after the jump. Via Chrysler

2013 Mega Mopar Car Show at Maple Grove Raceway

2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Core: 470 horsepower for Just $38,995

As DodgeForum points out, the 2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Core is the most powerful car you can buy under $40,000. Mopar has always been about performance bang for the buck and the Core gets you just that: basically a stripped down, no-nonsense SRT8 Challenger. Here’s how the guys at SRT describe it:

The new 2013 Challenger SRT Core vehicle stands out thanks to its black grille and functional rear spoiler, ‘392’ badge on the front fender and 20-inch cast aluminum five-spoke wheels with black-painted pockets. Brembo® brakes stay and are finished in black for a more understated appearance. The SRT Viper lends its ballistic cloth material to the Challenger SRT Core for aggressively bolstered seats in Dark Slate Gray. Door inserts are finished in an “Axle” textile and a mini-carbon bezel instrument panel completes the appearance.

2013 SRT Viper on the Dyno at Livernois Motorsports

The SRT guys recently took the new Viper over to Livernois Motorsports in Dearborn, Michigan for a bit of testing. The results for the SRT V-10 were a very impressive 558 horsepower at the wheels and 526 lb.-ft.of torque. (Keep in mind that at-the-wheels numbers are usually 15 percent lower due to driveline losses, so these numbers are very much in keeping with the factory numbers of 640-horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 600 lb.-ft. of torque.) Video after the jump! Mopar ’13 Dart

The limited edition Mopar ’13 Dart has officially been priced at $25,485, and will hit dealer lots this summer. The package includes Pitch Black paint with a blue racing stripe, a lowered stance, chin spoiler, deck-lid spoiler and rear diffuser, plus black 18-inch wheels.
