Here are some highlights from the Russo and Steele auction from the Wednesday preview.
This is a 1970 Hemi Superbird and probably the best Mopar at Russo.

Check out Street Legal TV for a piece on the 1964 Plymouth Belvedere with the Commando and this beautiful, restored to original condition example. More pics after the jump!
Two years ago, Bob Mosher’s newly built 1965 Plymouth was stolen from his shop in Southern California. The thief took the car up to some serious speed and managed to hit a tree going 150 mph. Can you believe he survived? Sadly, the car didn’t. More pics after the jump! Via Hot Rod
We love this pic of a totally badass 1965 Belvedere at Byron Dragway in Illinois. You can see full coverage of the Meltdown Drags at BangShift
A highlight of Detroit Autorama were the A-990 Super Stock Hemi cars in attendance, like this amazing 1965 Dodge Coronet. Click through to see more pics of the Coronet, and the meticulously restored 1965 Plymouth Belvedere that made its first appearance at the show (you can read more about the Belvedere here). Richard Petty’s Daytona-winning 1964 Plymouth Belvedere replica was featured in the April issue of Hot Rod Magazine, which also has a good article on the 426 Hemi. Those of you without a subscription (or who are unwilling to head down to the newsstand), check out this site, which has a ton of photos and information about the car.
I know nothing about this car. Just saw it posted on Facebook by Mopars United. Looks killer with the Keystones!
We have another great vintage Richard Petty photo this week. The picture is from the 1967 Bristol race, most likely the spring one. The car is up on jack stands and even in the B&W picture you can tell it has chrome rims. The car is also pretty naked of stickers so you can tell this is from practice a day or two before the actual race.
A little bit Charger, a little bit Belvedere/Satellite, a little bit Cuda and a lot of rock and roll. What do you think? Via Moparts
According to the folks at Plant Junk Cars, the 1996 Plymouth Belvedere is the least junked car in America. Probably cause those 66-7 parts are so darn expensive and hard to find! (Yes, I used to own one.) What’s the most junked? Ford (I know, big surprise). Via LACar.com Thanks to Darren for the tip!
