1969 Dodge Charger Daytona is the Perfect Vehicle for Vin Diesel in Fast & Furious 6

Check out what Vin Diesel told the guys at Top Gear:

“I felt like the Daytona spoke to the character,” Diesel said. “It’s always a big process picking the cars and the casting of the car normally reflects the state of mind of our characters.”

Director Justin Lin also thought it was the perfect car for this film:

“The Daytona is a car I had been looking at for the last three Fast & Furious films but they never felt right,” Lin explained. “It did for this one.”

Have you see Fast & Furious 6 yet? What did you think? If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the trailer after the jump!

Defiance Charger is One Badass Mopar

After that awesome Defiance preview last week I thought we’d take a closer look at the Defiance Charger. Dodge has worked with SyFy in the past–on shows like Ghost Hunters and 31 Days of Halloween–so they were first in line for this integrated video game/tv series, which was under development for five years. Dodge was very involved in the design process and approved all renderings before the final car was built. I think it looks great with power bulge and rust, and of course Chargers look great with push bars so they are a no brainer for a post-apocalyptic badass look. Under those visual mods is a relatively stock 2013 Charger. More pics after the jump! Via Jalopnik and Allpar

2015 Dodge Charger

Allpar has some interesting stuff on the 2015 Dodge Charger. They are currently expecting a mild refresh for 2015 to carry over until the big RWD Chrysler cars are completely redesigned (somewhere in the 2017 to 2020 range). Right now they are expecting a 6.2 liter Hemi pushing around 580 horsepower, updated electronics such as UConnect 2, Via Mobile and parking aids, eight-speed trannies for all motors (not just the V6 cans) and perhaps some suspension tuning. The rendering below shows some influence by the Maserati Ghibli. You can read more at Allpar

Original Bullitt Charger Camera Car Listed For $1 Million

That’s right, $1,000,000 for a car the seller claims is the original Charger camera car used in the movie Bullitt, one of just two Chargers used in filming. I’m surprised it has hubcaps, seeing how the Charger lost eight hubcaps during the big chase scene. Anyway, check out the ad on Cars-On-Line and see what you think. There are links to stories that support the fact that the car was the camera car–one at ponysite.de and one at Jim’s Garage–based mostly on the fact that when the car was discovered in Tucson, Arizona, there were drill holes in the floor and trunk that seem to match up with those seen in still pics of the camera car back during the shoot. Honestly, I’m not convinced, but who knows. There is also a crummy video taken at SEMA two years ago after the jump. The price is firm, so don’t even think about a lowball…

Dodge Charger and Challenger Most Popular Muscle Cars

Most popular in terms of search traffic, anyway. That’s according to Cars-On-Line, who claims that 18.5% of buyers are searching for Chargers and 15.7% are searching for Challengers. This seems a bit high to me, but hey, there is no question that Chargers and Challengers are popular (nevermind the fact many people seem to confuse the two). I assume, too, that this would include late-model Chargers and Challengers. Anyway, I showed you that awesome Hemi Charger yesterday, so how about this beautiful purple 4-speed 1970 Dodge Challenger RT/SE, for sale via Cars-On-Line.
