1965 Plymouth Barracuda at the Charles Kee Estate

The Charles Kee auction starts tomorrow! They just posted the complete catalog today, take a look.

The next car we are featuring is a 1965 Plymouth Barracuda, VIN number V852527557.  It is a factory 273 4 bbl commando V8 automatic car with a floor shifter. A 4 bbl in one of these is pretty rare. This Cuda is very clean and is a loaded model. We see power brakes, floor shift auto, bucket seats, chrome air cleaner, black valve covers, wood grain wheel and the top of the line hub caps.  It has silver exterior with black interior and black stripes.

Dodge’s Five Year Plan

Big news today out of Chrysler Fiat: “the SRT family of vehicles will be consolidated under the Dodge brand.” We never understood why SRT was spun off in the first place, so this makes sense to us.

So how about the next five years? Well, the Dart will finally get the SRT treatment for 2016. We all also see an all-new Journey in 2016. Then, in 2018 we will see an all-new Charger and Challenger. Meanwhile, the Avenger will be killed off this year and the Grand Caravan will go away in 2016. Press release after the jump! Chrysler Registers “Rebel” Trademark

Jalopnik reports that Chrysler has recently filed to trademark the name “Rebel” and it appears to have done so with the intent of using it in the future as opposed to protecting past AMC cars with that nameplate. Whether it is for a new model or a trim/package on an existing model (Charger Rebel? Wrangler Rebel? Caravan Rebel?), only time will tell.

SRT Challenger Hellcat Spotted

Update: Motor Trend Calls BS on these Spy Shots

LeftLane has some photos of what appears to be the 2015 Challenger Hellcat, replete with bulging hood and cold air intake. Now that the “run-of-the-mill” 2015 Challengers have been released, they seem to have relaxed their guard re the front and rear covers. The unique hood is a tip off to something special lurking beneath. You can also see SRT on the wheel centers with some serious Brembo brake calipers behind. More pics after the jump!

Charles Kee Collection in Brothers, Oregon

Did you want to go to the Lambrecht collection auction but live in the Northwest? Did you want to go but are only a Mopar fan? Well, here is your chance. The Charles Kee collection is going up for auction on May 8th and 9th in Brothers, Oregon. Where is Brothers, you ask? It’s in the middle of nowhere in Eastern Oregon, about an hour east of Bend, Oregon. It was a five hour drive for us from Olympia, Washington. Charles Kee was collecting cars to try to start a museum but unfortunately passed away before seeing his dreams come true.

This is an amazing collection of cars and parts but unfortunately a few years ago some Europeans came in and bought a bunch of the better cars from the collection. Most of what are left are C-bodies and 4-door Chryslers with a few scattered B- and A-bodies.  Still some good projects in the bunch, however.

We got the opportunity to see the collection and have the scoop on the cars and parts that are going up for auction. Here are some general pictures and we are going to have more details on a few of the best cars. The auction is being run by James G. Murphy–here is a link to the preliminary catalog. Anyone want more info on any cars in particular?

2015 Challenger and Charger Revealed

Motor Authority is among the first to reveal pictures of the new-for-2015 Challenger and Charger. Both cars get reworked noses and tails with the Challenger getting a much needed interior makeover. The 8 speed transmission now fits under it’s hump. I’ll reserve judgement on the Chargers front end until I see one in person.  No pics of the SRT’s or the Hellcat just yet. More pics after the jump!
