Meet the Coroner

Check out this awesome new feature on Speedhunters on “The Coroner” located in Sweden.

“In essence, what he’s done is take a 1968 Dodge Coronet with a 1969 front end, plus a 2007 Dodge Charger, and blend them together to create something that looks old from the outside, but has all the luxuries and performance you’d expect from a modern muscle car at its core.”

More pics after the jump, but be sure to check out the full feature on Speedhunters!

  1. Hmmm…..I had a Coronet RT with a/c,tilt,cruise,power steering,power seats,power trunk,power antenna,leather,rear defrost…am/fm (under dash mounted am/fm/cd player,amp/sub in trunk,custom speakers in dash and rear dash panel 9where stock ones go.

Also had a 440 Magnum 4bbl,3.54 rear gear,727,duel exhaust that ran high 12’s bone stock with radial tires 275/60/15’s..

I later redid the engine, put a Mopar purple cam, redid the heads, jetted the carb, added electronic ignition (Mopar orange box ecu) And redid the 727,added a lower 1st gear and it is a solid 12 flat with street tires (if it can hook past the 60 ft mark)

Just playing with the transmission even on a stock 440,383 ect you can get 1/2 second to a 1 second off the 1/4 mile .Did it years ago with my 73 400 4bbl Satellite, motor was strong,it ran 14.20’s with 3.23 gears and a stock 400 4bbl from 73 !! With a stock smog carb, could have got 13.99’s I bet if I took it more than once.. ..I added a torque conv. from a truck with power at low rpm ,it did huge burnouts, even better than my 68 440 that ran low 12’s !! (not a stall where you need to hold the brake and rev it high not good for a street car,you lose low end power unless you hold the revs up every time you want to floor it ) It ran 13.50’s the 2 times I took it out ,I had to change the crappy smogger carb as it bogged with the torque conv..so added a 750 Holley ,wow..just wow !!!

So,my message it this…they went through a lot of work for what ? My 68 Charger RT runs 11.80’s now, handles like my 2010 SRT8 Challenger…Just lower the torsion bars a bit on old Mopars a few turns with a wrench and pry bar if needed..2 minutes the front is lowered 2-3 inches depending on your liking and it takes turns and handles 10 times better than the fron siiting high..want it to stick better lower the rear leaf springs (need to remove them,re-ark them or add blocks) add 235 front tires,275 or wider rears and go vette corner carving..You would be surprised, especially if you can drive you cant make them handle like a slot car !!
